We have an amazing Activity staff.  Activities are offered day and night – seven days a week. Our residents enjoy nature daily around the facility. Other events include an annual picnic, cultural and holiday celebrations for residents, their families and staff.

Root beer floats are a favorite along with Bingo, gospel music, exercise classes, and ice cream socials once a week. We have our own Red Hat Club, dances, shopping trips, and fishing out back in our pond. We have a wheelchair accessible deck, where  you are suspended over the water. How about a tour of the Kalamazoo Air Zoo, a game of Bingo and/or a shopping trip to Wal-Mart? We do that.

Other amenities and services include:

  • 2 beautiful outdoor courtyards with garden plots. Our residents love to plant and harvest vegetables, especially tomatoes to make BLT’s
  • 2 ponds with wheelchair accessible fishing decks
  • 3 parlors for family get-togethers
  • Hair Salon (Open Every Monday)
  • 140 acres of nature, woods and farmland

Special Occasions and Holidays

Special occasions, like our Thanksgiving Dinner, is served the Sunday before Thanksgiving  for residents and their families, so that families can enjoy the holiday with their love ones here and still go out of town on Thanksgiving. (We cook Thanksgiving Dinner again on Thanksgiving Day for our residents; now that is delicious!)

We offer an Open House for families and residents with gourmet food and live music during the holidays. New Year’s Eve features more gourmet food and live music  chosen by our residents. (We have many talented dancers among our residents!)

Summertime Fun!

Summertime finds us throwing a huge picnic for our residents and their families.  Live entertainment, while everyone feasts on bar-b-que pork, burgers, brats, fresh corn on the cob, potato salad, watermelon and a whole lot more. Mmmm good!

Grandkids can play in our bouncy tent and play games for prizes during this summer fun for all. The Cass County Medical Care Facility is truly a place for the whole family.

Gift Shop

The Cass County Medical Care Facility has an amazing Gift Shop run for over 50 years by the Ladies Auxiliary.

The Auxiliary supports our residents by providing donated items for  their shopping trips to the Gift Shop where wonderful treasures await. The Auxiliary also donates holiday gifts to residents and sponsors monthly birthday parties as well. Talk about the true meaning of volunteering and community!
