CCMCF AUGUST RESIDENT (JAN HOLLENBECK)

Jan Hollenbeck was born at Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac, MI. He was named after a a musician. The family farm, where Jan grew up, is a bicentennial farm that is now 141 years old. He lettered in High school football and his date to prom was crowned Prom Queen.

He raised sheep and beef cows while working at two sailboat companies cutting and sanding sailboat parts. Jan was also active in 4-H for many years. He once delivered a two-headed sheep that was stillborn, and woke up the next day to discover another baby being born.

Jan has 3 daughters and a son. He is an avid Notre Dame fan. His favorite place to visit is Laguna Beach, California. Jan prize car was a ’57 Chevy. We all enjoy his great sense of humor and he is quite the jokester.
