CCMCF JULY RESIDENT VIRGINIA (GIGI) BENDER

Virginia was born an only child to Raymond and Victoria, in Tennessee and grew up in North Carolina. She grew up with many cousins that she considered siblings. Virginia moved to Michigan at the age of 15, worked at a toy factory called Transogram with her mother. Virginia has 8 children, 24 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She is known by family and friends as (Gigi).

Virginia was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 32 while pregnant with her youngest son, the doctors were worried, but she was not.

Virginia loved to do crafts, needle point and crochet were her favorites. She was a president of several fan clubs for well-known country singers. Gorge Jones and Tammy Wynette were among those that she met over the years.

Virginia always liked to make her children laugh by wearing bunny ears and other silly things. She has a Rattle Snake Chili recipe that she sent to her youngest daughter for giggles. She has always loved animals and has rescued many animals including a baby alligator.
